How you can stay safe in breakdown situations.

Breakdowns are never fun. Sometimes it can be scary not knowing how you’re going to get your vehicle repaired and get back home.

Here’s what to do if you ever find yourself in a situation where you’ve broken down.

Find a safe place to pull up

If possible find a safe place to pull up away from the traffic. (If you’re on the motorway – use the hard shoulder). Please take care when exiting the vehicle and ensure passengers use the doors opposite the active traffic.

Switch on hazard lights

Switch on your hazard lights, put on some reflective clothing and place a hazard triangle if you have one. If visibility is a problem – keep your lights on.
